Some partnerships are measured in years. Others are measured in the lives they help change.

For more than a decade, Toronto Hydro and its community of supporters have come together for a cause that’s close to our hearts: supporting Sunnybrook's Ross Tilley Burn Centre and the patients and families who rely on its care.

This year, that commitment was recognized with the 2026 Sunnybrook Rose Award for Corporate Partner, an honour celebrating organizations whose generosity and leadership inspire others to make a difference.

Our connection with the Burn Centre goes back to 2014. Since then, Toronto Hydro and our community of supporters have raised more than $7 million to support burn research and patient care.

That support continued in a big way this year. At our 2026 Annual Charity Golf Tournament, the generosity of Toronto Hydro employees, partners, vendors and sponsors helped raise a record $800,000 for the Toronto Hydro Fund for Burn Research. It’s a milestone that reflects just how many people continue to rally behind the Burn Centre and the life-changing work happening there.

Behind those numbers are people. Patients facing serious burn and electrical injuries. Families supporting loved ones through recovery. And the doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals who are there with them every step of the way.

That’s what makes this cause so meaningful to us. The award also comes at an exciting time for the Ross Tilley Burn Centre. Sunnybrook is transforming the space with renovations to the unit and a second operating room, helping more patients access specialized reconstructive surgery and supporting burn survivors throughout their recovery.

While we’re incredibly proud to receive the Sunnybrook Rose Award, this recognition really belongs to the many people who have supported the cause year after year. From employees and retirees to industry partners, sponsors and volunteers, every contribution has helped strengthen the Ross Tilley Burn Centre’s ability to care for patients and advance research that is shaping the future of burn treatment.

Together, they’ve helped support life-changing care and research, giving patients and families access to specialized support when they need it most.

More than a decade and $7 million and another record-breaking year of support later, there’s a lot to be proud of. But the most important part is what comes next: continuing to show up for the Burn Centre, its patients and their families.
