About our Cleantech Services Directory

Connecting you with qualified contractors, consultants and professionals.

At Toronto Hydro, we're committed to helping customers of all sizes decarbonize their homes, businesses and vehicles to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and support the transition to a sustainable economy.

Through our searchable online directory, we connect customers seeking electrification services and energy-efficient equipment installations with qualified contractors, consultants and professionals operating in Toronto.

How our Cleantech Services Directory works

No matter how big or small the project, hiring a business to help you go electric is an important decision. The Cleantech Services Directory helps you narrow down your search in a matter of minutes. Here’s how it works:

  1. Browse our Cleantech Services Directory.

It's made up of qualified contractors, consultants, cleantech professionals and financial institutions. Learn about the requirements to be listed on the directory.

  2. Narrow your search using filters.

With the Search by filters feature, you don't need to comb through countless businesses to determine if they offer what you're seeking. Filters include service area, service type, building or sector expertise, service(s) required and preferred language. If you know the name of the business you’re looking for, you can also search by business name.

  3. Reach out to the businesses that best meet your needs and start collecting quotes.

We recommend gathering at least three quotes before deciding which business to hire. More tips to keep in mind before hiring a business are listed in the following section.

Tips for hiring a business

Before hiring a business, we recommend keeping the following pieces of advice in mind:

  1. Get multiple quotes: Talk to several businesses and get written quotes from at least three. A good contractor will provide you with a written quote that includes a clear breakdown of the costs and work involved. When reviewing the quotes, consider materials, work methods, timelines and other factors that may vary by business. Be cautious of estimates that are too high or too low.
  2. Request references and check past work: How has their work turned out in the past? Do they specialize in the kind of work you want completed? In addition to the references the business provides, search online for reviews, such as on the Better Business Bureau website to ensure other past clients are satisfied with the quality of their products, services and overall experience.
  3. Sign a contract before getting started: Review the terms and conditions of the contract and take the necessary steps to ensure you fully understand your rights and obligations. This could include hiring a professional, such as a lawyer, for support.
