Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited: Power Outage Update
TORONTO, Dec. 28 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited reports that it is making good progress in restoring power to customers affected by the wind storm that blew through today. There are now fewer than 3,000 customers without power. Full deployment of crews continues throughout Sunday and currently 30 crews are on the road responding to calls and making repairs. Additional resources will be kept on hand until all power is restored late Sunday or perhaps early Monday morning. As it stands, Toronto Hydro has been able to restore all primary feeder outages meaning there are no widespread outages in large quadrants of the city affecting our customers. The remaining outages are those that have overhead wires and are in heavily treed areas. They are mainly single dwellings or single streets meaning that it takes longer to repair. Crews are currently responding to 52 "Wires Down" calls. CUSTOMERS ARE REMINDED TO STAY CLEAR OF DOWNED WIRES AS THEY MAY BE ENERGIZED. To report a power outage or lines down, please call Toronto Hydro customer care at 416-542-8000.
