Multi-Unit Premises

 

If you're the owner, or landlord, of a premises where multiple units are billed through one meter, the premises is considered a Bulk Metered Multi-Unit Premises and you may be eligible to receive exemptions or consumption allowances for each eligible unit.

 

Regulated Price Plan (RPP)

The account may qualify to be billed under the RPP. As such, you may be eligible to receive the lower tier threshold (600 kWh per month from May 1 to October 31 and 1,000 kWh from November 1 - April 30 for residential accounts, or 750kWh year-round for non-residential accounts) allowance for each eligible unit.

 

Ontario Rebate for Electricity Consumers (OREC)

The Ontario Rebate for Electricity Consumers (“OREC”) provides eligible residential and commercial customers with an 8% rebate on the before-tax total cost of electricity charges related to electricity consumption on their bills as of January 1, 2017. Bulk Metered Multi-Unit Premises may qualify for the rebate.

 

Owners of such Bulk Metered Multi-Unit Premises need to provide notice of their eligibility by completing the applicable Bulk Metered Multi-Unit Premises Declaration Form.
