Toronto Hydro Telecom makes even the smallest network a veritable fortress

Flexible, customizable firewall solutions from Toronto Hydro Telecom
    bolster network security

TORONTO, Nov. 21 /CNW/ - Organizations suffer hundreds of malicious
attacks against their corporate networks each and every day. With the cost of
network breaches experienced by organizations expected to increase by
20 per cent(1) in the next year alone, companies cannot afford to ignore the
reality that intellectual property is under constant threat and that a
scalable solution needs to be put in place. In light of this very real
challenge facing businesses today, Toronto Hydro Telecom has announced the
arrival of its Managed Firewall service, which offers businesses a unique
customized solution, delivering true flexibility, scalability and security.
With its ability to apply service and policies at each office location,
Toronto Hydro Telecom's Managed Firewall can accommodate any organization's
changing needs. Available as either one of four stock configurations or as a
fully customized solution, companies can create and augment security services
and policies to best suit their needs. This effectively eliminates the need
for the costly software upgrades often required to keep pace with the
ever-evolving threats that can affect a business.
"With the increase in frequency and sophistication of network attacks,
firewall protection is an essential line of defence for all businesses no
matter the size, as no organization is exempt from these assaults," said Dave
Dobbin, president, Toronto Hydro Telecom. "Our offering - available to our
Internet customers - has been designed with the knowledge and understanding
that the majority of businesses in Canada today require a solution that fits
their unique organizational requirements."
Unlike most small firewall appliances developed, Toronto Hydro Telecom's
Managed Firewall service makes carrier-class firewall infrastructure a
reality, effectively removing the financial burden of a traditional in-house
solution. The capital cost is absorbed by the service provider, as are the
personnel requirements for the implementation, management and ongoing
monitoring of the security infrastructure.
