Entry and eligibility
This contest runs from 9:00 AM (EST) on August 29th, 2019 through to 11:59 PM (EST) on December 31st, 2019 ("Contest Period"). You will be entered automatically into the "Fall 2019 Starbucks eBill Campaign" (the "Contest") if you successfully make the switch to eBills on your Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited ("Toronto Hydro") residential customer account during the Contest Period (the “Contest Entry”).
This Contest is only open to Toronto Hydro residential customers who are 18 years of age or older, primarily residing in the City of Toronto, excluding the employees, directors, and officers of Toronto Hydro or any of its affiliates, advertising, and promotional agencies, and agents and representatives and the immediate family members of such employees, directors, and officers, their legal or common-law spouse and/or any persons living in the same household. There is a limit of one (1) Contest Entry per Toronto Hydro residential account. No purchase necessary.
Enrolling and un-enrolling in eBills will not result in any additional chances to win.
A copy of the Official Contest Rules (the “Rules”) for this contest will be posted at torontohydro.com/campaignrules throughout the Contest Period. By entering this Contest, entrants acknowledge they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Rules. Toronto Hydro reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant they find to be tampering with the entry process or with the operation of this Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules. Toronto Hydro reserves the rights, in its sole discretion, to amend, cancel, terminate, or suspend this Contest, in whole or in part, without prior notice.
Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of law, and should such an attempt be made, Toronto Hydro reserves the right to exclude such person from the Contest and to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The following prize(s) will be awarded in this Contest:
All participants with a successful Contest Entry will receive a Starbucks electronic gift card valued at $5.00 (five Canadian dollars) each (each, a “Prize”). The Sponsor reserves the right to modify the supplier at any time. The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No cash substitutions. No individual winner may win more than one (1) Prize.
The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the Prize or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater value, including, without limitation, but at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, a cash award. Prize will only be awarded to the person who is verified as the residential customer account respondent.
THE CONTEST BEGINS 9:00 AM (EST) ON AUGUST 29th, 2019 AND ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 31st, 2019 at 11:59 PM (EST). ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY. NO SUBSTITUTIONS.
In order to be declared an official winner, the selected entrant must:
- Provide satisfactory identification and proof of eligibility
Failure to comply with these Rules will cause the Prize to be forfeited, in which case, the Prize may be re-awarded at Toronto Hydro's discretion.
All decisions of Toronto Hydro, including the validation of entries will be final and binding on the entrant, without right of appeal.
Recipients will receive their Prize within ten (10) business days of Contest Entry.
By entering this Contest, each entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Releasees accept no responsibility for any loss, damages or claims arising from, or caused by, the Contest or the Prize awarded, and releases the Releasees in respect thereof.
By entering this Contest, each entrant further acknowledges and agrees that as a condition of entering that all entries and submissions become the sole property of Toronto Hydro and its affiliates and Toronto Hydro has the right to use as desired without remuneration or liability.
This promotion is subject to all applicable laws in the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Toronto Hydro reserves the right, to withdraw, amend, or suspend this Contest (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Toronto Hydro that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Rules. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest in any way (as determined by Toronto Hydro in its sole and absolute discretion) is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Toronto Hydro reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Toronto Hydro reserves the right to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest, or to amend these Rules, in any way without prior notice or obligation, in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind, or for any other reason whatsoever. Without limiting the generality of the forgoing, Toronto Hydro reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternate test of skill as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances and/or to comply with applicable law.
Toronto Hydro reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, and without prior notice, to adjust any of the dates and/or timeframes stipulated in these Rules, to the extent necessary, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant, or as a result of any technical or other problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of Toronto Hydro, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules, or for any other reason. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to: television, print or online advertising; the terms and conditions of these Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law.
