WHEN SHOULD YOU SUBMIT YOUR ELECTRICITY METER READ ONLINE?
If we are unable to read your electricity meter during our regularly scheduled visit to your home, you will receive a meter card asking you to submit your meter read to us as soon as possible. In this case, you may either phone in your meter read or use this convenient online form to submit your reading. To submit your meter read online, follow the steps below.
Please note: If you have received a meter card from Toronto Hydro-Electric System, please remember to submit your meter reading to us no later than one week from the time that you have received your card. This will provide adequate time for us to process your meter reading.
Step 1
Locate your electricity meter
Your electricity meter is generally located in your basement or backyard. It records, in Kilowatt hours (KWh), the amount of electricity that your home has consumed. It is a small, grey, rounded metal device with a glass front. It will have either a digital face, a face with four dials or a face with five dials. If your electricity meter has dials, you will notice that the dial numbers appear from 0 to 9 only.
