Tips to keep your kids safe around electrical equipment

It’s important to educate kids about electrical safety in order to protect them from dangers posed by some equipment and everyday household items.

Tips to keep your child safe:

Stay back at least 10 meters (length of a school bus) away from broken or downed powerlines

Don't put fingers or other objects
in an outlet

Don't fly kites or climb trees
near powerlines

Don't put metal objects into a toaster

Don't use electronics around water

Don't pull a plug out of the
socket by its cord

Don't climb on power poles

Don't touch or sit on big green
padmount/transformer boxes
