Thanks for another great Festive Light Exchange!

We collected 22,434 strings of incandescent bulbs and gave away 11,217 energy-efficient LEDs.  Congratulations Toronto. With your help, we saved over two megawatts of electricity!

When decorating for the holidays, LED lights are a sure way to light up the season.  They use less electricity, look great and will save you money.  Look for other ways to 'green' your holiday tree.  Simply reusing or recyling items from around the home or choosing environmentally-friendly materials is not only cost effective, but it's planet-friendly.

Why You Should Decorate With LEDs

  • They use up to 95 per cent less electricity, produce virtually no heat and generate more light per watt than traditional incandescent lights.
  • They have a lifespan of 20-30 years.
  • They are virtually unbreakable because the chips that convert electricity to light are encapsulated in solid plastic, rather than glass bulbs.
