Power Savings Blitz is a conservation program that offers small business like yours up to $1000 in free* energy-efficient lighting and equipment upgrades.  The goal is to help you save moeny on your electricity bill.

Power Savings Blitz offers:

• A free energy assessment to identify possible energy savings
• Up to $1,000 of energy-efficient retrofits – including all equipment and labour
• Annual savings of up to $400
• Installation and cleanup by an authorized, licensed contractor
• Recycling of old equipmen

Typical upgrades include:

• Overhead lighting such as T-8 fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent bulbs
• LED exit lights
• Water heater insulation blankets
• Hot-water pipe insulation
• Faucet aerators

You can save even more

Speak to the authorized contractor about having additional work done to increase your energy savings. There’s no obligation – you will still qualify for up to $1,000 in free retrofits. If you choose to do more, you’ll save more every month.

Who qualifies for Power Savings Blitz?

Power Savings Blitz is for retail business or small office customers of Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited that have an annual electricity demand of less than 50 kW. This includes dry cleaners, grocery stores, restaurants, flower shops and other small retailers. If you are unsure if you qualify, please call 416-599-9210.

This is how it works

An energy advisor will come to your business and conduct an energy assessment. You will receive a list of recommended energy efficiency upgrades for your consideration.

The advisor will identify your best retrofit options

Once the assessment is completed, you can decide how much work you want done. We will identify a project with a value of up to $1,000. If you choose to have that work done, there is absolutely no cost to you.

There may be opportunities for further energy efficiency retrofits above the $1,000 allowance. We will advise you on the costs and potential savings if you’d like to proceed.

We supply, install, clean up and recycle

An authorized, licensed electrical contractor will make an appointment to complete your retrofit at your convenience. Afterwards, we will clean up and dispose of the old equipment in an environmentally friendly manner.

Using less electricity is good for your business and it’s the right thing for the environment, too. Some forms of electricity generation create greenhouse gas and other pollution.
