SIGN UP FOR peaksaver® AND GET A CREDIT OF $75 OR MORE
For business customers with a central or roof top air conditioner
If you have one or more central or roof top air conditioners, you likely qualify for a $75 credit on the first unit and $50 for each additional unit when you sign up for peaksaver. So, if you have two units, you'll receive $125; for three units it would be $175 and so on. After installation, you will receive a credit on your Toronto Hydro bill.
Once you sign up, there's nothing more for you to do - we take care of everything.
Here's how it works
You sign up your central air conditioner for peaksaver.
A small device will be installed near your central air conditioner to reduce its electricity use during peak times. These are usually on hot summer afternoons but never on weekends or statutory holidays. You likely won't notice the difference.
Why peaksaver? It's the green thing to do
When you sign up for peaksaver, you're joining over 60,000 Toronto households and businesses that are helping to reduce the environmental impact of periods of peak electricity demand. It's during these peak periods that the less attractive forms of generation, like coal, must be used. This causes some of the pollution we sometimes see on hot summer days. peaksaver activation is minimal
Typically peaksaver is activated when the electricity supply is reaching its peak, usually during the week, Monday to Friday. The activation period won't exceed four hours, and it's never on weekends or holidays. If you have a special day on which you'd like to opt out of peaksaver, call us and we'll schedule an exemption.
Are you a tenant?
If you are a tenant in your building, we will need the building owner's approval so we can install the peaksaver device. On the sign up form, you'll find a place to include the owner's name and phone number. There's nothing further for you to do.

If energy management is handled by head office, we urge you to consider peaksaver for all of your Toronto locations. For each location, you will be credited for $75 for the first air conditioner and $50 for each subsequent unit.
In addition to the financial credit, you can also take credit for leading the way in environmental initiatives. We will provide you with a window sticker and tent card to show your commitment ot the environment.
