Information included in this report is also reviewed by Toronto Hydro’s Disclosure Policy Committee and representatives from Toronto Hydro’s Finance, Legal, Regulatory, and Communications divisions. Accuracy of the data provided in this report is assured through internal and third-party reviews, where applicable. To reduce potential for data entry error, a sample verification of select indicators was conducted (including electricity, natural gas, vehicle fuel, waste, spills, employment, community investment, sulphur hexafluoride releases). Toronto Hydro’s sustainability data and practices are periodically verified as part of the Canadian Electricity Association’s Sustainable Electricity Program to ensure information is accurate and correct. Toronto Hydro’s environmental management system and occupational health and safety management program are audited annually by Intertek to verify conformance with ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. The most recent audit was completed in November 2016. Toronto Hydro is audited annually by an independent third party acting on behalf of the Electrical Safety Authority to verify compliance with the Electrical Distribution Safety requirements set out in Ontario Regulation 22/04. The regulation establishes safety requirements for the design, construction and maintenance of electrical distribution systems. There were no audit findings in 2015 and 2016. The Corporation’s 2015 and 2016 consolidated financial statements were audited by KPMG LLP. The consolidated financial statements and management’s discussion and analysis can be accessed at torontohydro.com, on the System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval website at sedar.com, or can be requested from the Corporation.
