Here are some examples of the projects we completed in 2014: TORONTO HYDRO 2014 CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY REPORT 57 INTRODUCTION MATERIALITY AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT OUR WORKFORCE SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS AND OPERATIONS OUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE AND ETHICS NEW OFFICE SPACE • Created from a converted locker room and a former facilities office, this space received an upgraded, energy-efficient heating and cooling system expected to reduce energy consumption by approximately 20% CONTROL CENTRE • Equipped with an energy-efficient heating and cooling system to reduce energy consumption by approximately 20% DATA CENTRE • Upgraded the cooling system and some of the IT equipment which reduced monthly energy demand by approximately 46.2 kW and reduced annual energy consumption by approximately 32,749 kWh VEHICLE GARAGE FLEET ROOF RETROFIT • Upgraded the original roofing with improved insulation to reduce heat loss by approximately 60% LED LIGHTING RETROFIT • Removed 693 inefficient lighting fixtures and replaced them with 798 efficient LED fixtures; and equipped meeting rooms and offices with automated sensors that turn off lighting when rooms are not in use. This retrofit is expected to achieve an annual total peak demand energy savings of 17.4 kW and 46,750 kWh of energy consumption annually FUEL DEPOT • Retrofitted our fuel depot with two above-ground fuel storage tanks, a leak detection system and energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures equipped with photocell sensors. The lighting retrofit is expected to save 76,650 kWh annually
