Toronto Hydro Employees Walk the Talk

Brighter Days is a reflection of Toronto Hydro Corporation's commitment to corporate responsibility and to supporting the people and institutions that make Toronto such a livable city

Economic Strength

Toronto Hydro is committed to working with community organizations to make our city healthy and vibrant. We work with:

  • Toronto Board of Trade
  • City Summit Alliance

Education

We actively support education programs that help children from kindergarten to Grade 12 stretch their minds and ignite their creativity. We support:

  • Learning Partnership - Take Your Kids to Work Day
  • Duke of Edinburgh Awards
  • Toronto Sci-Tech Fair
  • National Engineering Week
  • Salon du livre

Health & Safety

Safety is a top priority. While we are constantly striving to improve our safety performance at work, we also know that safe communities are important. We work with:

  • CityWatch
  • Hazard Hamlet
  • Public education about electrical safety

 

Volunteerism

Our new Volunteerism program is one that is being driven by our employees' already strong commitment to their communities. Here are some of the initiatives that we support:

  • Support for Employee Community Fundraisers
  • Support for Employee Coaching Certification
  • Community In-Kind Donations
  • Family & Friends Volunteer Initiatives

 

 

Environment

Environmental responsibility is an integral part of our corporate mission and our social responsibility. Our employees also participate in community environmental programs, such as:

  • Education Centre, Toronto Hydro/WindShare wind turbine
  • Clean Air Commute
  • Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests (LEAF)
  • Smog Summit
  • Ontario Forestry Association

Social Services

We have a long-standing commitment to helping people in need. These are some of the programs we support:
