Executive Vice-President of Utility Innovation and Chief Conservation Officer
As Executive Vice-President of Utility Innovation and Chief Conservation Officer for Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited, Mr. Tyrrell oversees the design, delivery and executive management of the utilities innovation strategy that supports business sustainability and continual growth of the utility. His portfolio of accountability includes the design and delivery of business development and innovation projects, corporate communications and public relations, marketing and corporate branding, municipal relations, street lighting services and operations, and conservation and demand management programs and initiatives.
Previous to this role, Mr. Tyrrell held executive leadership roles including Executive Vice- President of Customer Care and Chief Conservation Officer and President of Toronto Hydro Energy Services Inc.
Mr. Tyrrell has an engineering and business educational background with over 34 years of experience in the utility and energy services industry. He is currently Co-Chair of the Conservation First Implementation Committee and past chair of the Canadian Electricity Association’s customer council. He is also a past board member of the Electricity Distributors Association, Mearie Group and past Co-Chair of the Conservation First Advisory Working Group.
