peaksaver allows you to help reduce the demands on Ontario's electricity system, simply and effectively. A peaksaver switch will be installed on your central air conditioner. During critical times (typically on hot summer days), a signal can be sent to cycle your system down to reduce the amount of electricity it uses. You won't notice a change in temperature, and you'll be doing your part to conserve without any further time, effort or cost!
peaksaver activation is minimal. Typical activation occurs when the electricity supply is reaching its peak, usually on summer weekdays (not on holidays or weekends) from June through September between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The activation period won't exceed 4 hours.
